R.J. Favro was named best chef by N.C.W.V. magazine in 2010. He began his career initially working in Manhattan and then traveled to Southern Italy and trained under the supervision of a master Italian chef at Capa Da Vejia for two years in the Calabria region. R.J. then returned back to his hometown to continue his passion for the culinary arts. Originally from Morgantown, R.J.’s introduction to the culinary arts came from studying at the Pittsburgh Culinary Institute. His career spans 20 years of experience in the food industry. Throughout the course of his career, R.J. has worked at local favorites as well as a 5-star restaurant. He is ecstatic to grow and accomplish personal goals at The Wine Bar at Vintner Valley while still providing our customers with the menu they have grown to love.
